Thank you for visiting! I am an award winning destination wedding photographer based in the Sierra foothills just east of Sacramento, in Grass Valley, CA, and serving all of Northern California and in the winter I spend as much time as possible photographing weddings in sunny, romantic Mexico.

Kerry and Dave's Engagement Photos

Kerry and Dave met up with me in Grass Valley last Sat and we went to the North Star Mine Powerhouse Museum site for their engagement session. It's a beautiful location for photos with Wolf Creek running under an arched stone pedestrian bridge, and lots of old mining equipment, too. They are a fun loving couple and are getting married next September in Rancho Cordova, CA. The venue is the St. John Vianney Church, which is a new location for me, and I'm very much looking forward to it. Kerry and Dave were referred to me by Lindsay. Hey, thanks, Lindsay! That was a fun time at Empire Mine last year!
Here's a few photos from Kerry and Dave's session. I'm going to use this location more often!

Civil War Reenactment Battle

What an amazing find! All these old Civil War photographs in my grandfathers old trunk, stored in the attic! NOT!
Last Sunday I went to Nevada City, CA for the annual Constitution Day Parade and Civil War Reenactment battle at Pioneer Park. I went 10 or 15 years ago when one of my friends, Rusty, was a Reenactor. This time I was there for the photos, and my daughter, Jula, went with me and took a few shots as well.
The cannons were deafening and their concussions were pounding! Lots of photos ops. The trick to make them look real was trying not to get spectators or 21st century buildings/structures in the background. Using ACDSee Pro software, I gave them a sepia tone and and then used an aging tool. They came out even better than I had hoped. Take a look!

Estee and Chuck's Wedding

The stage and new improvements now allow weddings to take place at the Riverside Wesleyan Church in Sacramento and Estee and Chuck were the first couple to get married there in a beautiful ceremony, with families and friends present and giving their support, on Saturday. Pastor Mike Higley was proud to do the officiating. I was honored that they chose me to photograph their special day and share it with them. I thank my talented assistant, Sorena, for helping me get some great photos, nine of which, below, were taken by her.
There was plenty of great food dishes, including octopus, sea bass, and jellyfish, at the Rice Bowl, where the reception was held. The dancing was fun and energetic to the tunes provided by the DJ, Corbett Cutts, of Trinity Entertainment, who did a great job.
I wish Estee and Chuck all the very best as they are off to Ohio to begin their new adventures in life together!
I've selected a few of their photos as a preview to post on this blog while the processing takes place. ALL of the photos will be available for viewing online through my association with Pictage in about 10 days. You may search Pictage.com for "Estee and Chuck" or access them through my website http://www.larryscottphotography.com/.
